BEATLES BIOPIC CAST REVEAL

idk man ( i went thru so many different emotions as a Beatles girlie, pls don't judge me)
Undated handout photo issued by Sony UK of (left to right) Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, as they have been confirmed as the four stars of a collection of new Beatles biopics

I keep looking at them like maybe over time, I’ll digest it. Maybe, I’ll be like, yes I’m convinced. Yes, it’s believable. Before drafting this episode, I was staring at a picture of Paul and just pondering & you know what’s so interesting about biopics, is that it’s hard for the people who are playing them to look exactly like that person, because obviously they’re not that person. I just think that, overall, biopics shouldn’t be made, because it’s better to just look at the real life person, and I say in this episode that me having two biopics that I LIKE & enjoy, is quite telling. It means biopics are hardly good, and if they’re not good, why keep making them? why throw them out into the world? and especially, I don’t want this biopic to make me as frustrated as Blonde did, because if this biopic does do that, I’ll be so disappointed, and genuinely just because like Blonde, it’s someone big as Marylin Monroe, and how could you possibly mess that up? & then with The Beatles, a big band like The Beatles, who a lot of people love and mean a lot too.

It’s interesting because the most recent biopic that I’ve seen is obviously, A Complete Unknown, and then I do believe that for one, when I came out of the cinema after seeing that, I didn’t feel like I learned much about Bob, other than he was never fame hungry and he detested that side of making music in the first place. But the key component to any biopic, is authenticity, and being true to that person. It’s why when I think about Rocket Man, Elton John liked Rocket Man, and then Priscilla Presley worked on Priscilla with Sofia, and also Bob liked Timothee’s performance of him, and especially as Timothee actually tried to be extremely authentic of playing Bob, by singing how he sings, and having his mannerisms down. I can bet any money, that in this film, they’ll be a lot of lip-syncing. So I guess, in conclusion, I wouldn’t say I’m overjoyed by the cast line-up, but I feel like it’s too soon, to be so hasty.
