When Life Gives You Tangerines is a slice of life Korean drama, which is a love story set in Jeju, between a spirited girl and a steadfast boy, going through trials and tribulations, and living with each other through the seasons.

Richness always reminds me of the famous Bob Marley quote, where he says being rich is not about money, but life’s joys. Being able to love one another, and spend times with family, and that you shouldn’t live life with greed in your heart. It’s the idea of money isn’t everything, but you do need it to survive.
Gwan-sik reminds me of my own father, in working his hardest for his family even on the days where he’s tired and he puts food on the table. I wish like Geum Myeong, even though I’m not the oldest and this show even displays that, of what the role is, in the sibling line-up, but I hope to give back to my parents one day, because they deserve so much.
Ae-sun being an literary girl, and poet, even reminded me of my mother who used to paint, and her artworks are surrounded in our home, and I’ve asked her before on being an artist myself, made her quit. I always wondered if her children ( including me) were to blame for her not continuing, but I think it was more so to do with her resilience and her relationship with art, which can be a hard thing to sustain.
